Licensure Requirements
Upon completion of the Cosmetology program required courses, the student will be eligible to apply for the Alabama Board of Cosmetology Exam. The ABOC requires:

Proof of program’s completion (transcripts)Within 90 days after a student completes the required school instructional hours and training, the appropriate instructor shall schedule an examination of the student with the Board. If application for examination is not received within a 90 day period, the applicable instructional hours and training shall be invalidated. A student who has completed 70 percent of the required school instructional hours may, when school is not in session, may receive a permit to work in a cosmetology salon.
