Financial Aid
The Office of Financial Aid at Reid State is responsible for assisting students with financial help in pursing their educational goals through a combination of available grants, scholarships, work-study, and numerous off-campus agencies making monies available for educational assistance.
Applying for Financial Aid
The FAFSA is the first step in the finanical aid process, and it's important that the form be completed correctly. Many students still file the paper application; however filing the FASFA on the web at www.fafsa.gov is much faster. Students are encouraged to use the computer lab in the Student Service Building 400 to file their FASFA. Assistance is available for students having questions or needing help in the submission process. Students are encouraged to make an appointment in a timely manner with the Financial Aid Office if help is need to complete the process Title IV code for RSTC is 005692.
Who is eligible to receive Federal Student Aid?
To be eligible to receive federal student aid, you must meet the certain requirements. You must:
* Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
* Have a valid Social Security number
* Comply with Selective Service registration, if required
* Have a high school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) Certificate or pass an approved ability-to-benefit (ATB) test
* Be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a regular student working toward a degree or certificate in an eligible program at a school that participates in the federal student aid programs
* You must not owe a refund on a federal grant or be in default on a federal student loan
* You must have financial need ( except for unsubsidized Stafford Loans)
* You must not have certain drug convictions

Institutional Scholarships
This program provides a partial or full tuition scholarship reusable annually for the duration of the program attempted, providing the student  continues to maintain satisfactory academic progress, appropriate attitude and service to the college and the community at large.
Applications for scholarships are available from the Reception Desk in the Administration Building. Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, leadership, service and need. Students are required to file the application along with transcripts of grades to the College Scholarship Chair Person, Wilma Quaker Smith. The deadline for Fall Enrollment is April 15 and the deadline for Spring Enrollment is October 1.
Eligibility
The award of an Academic Scholarship requires the following:
1. A "B" average (3.00 GPA) during the 10th, 11th, and 1st semester of the 12th grade, or
2. A "B" average the previous semester as a full time enrolled student at RSTC and making good academic progress. These awards are not guaranteed not even before enrolling at RSTC.

The award of a Leadership Scholarship requires the following:
1. A C+ average (2.5 GPA) during the 10th, 11th, and the 1st semester of the 12th grade, or
2. A C+ average the previous semester as a full time enrolled student at RSTC and making good academic progress. The awards are not guaranteed not even before enrolling at RSTC.
3. Demonstrate leadership abilities by occupy an active leadership position in high school or community, church, or civic organizations.
4. A currently enrolled student must occupy an active leadership position with student government (SGA, SGA representative, etc.)
5. Must be willing to serve the college and community in the following ways:
A. Recruit in hometown areas
B. Participate in activity days
C. Participate in graduation
D. Attend the participate when needed, in awards/honors day
E. Participate in the Red Cross Blood Drive
F. Actively participate in other college and community activity as requested
G. Serve as a tutor to deserving students
