Program Contact: Felicia Hall-Grace, MSN, RN Phone: 251-578-1313 Ext. 126 Office Email: fgrace@rstc.edu (Best way to contact) Length of Program: 6 weeks of Full-time attendance The purpose of the Nursing Assistant Program is to fulfill the seventy-five (75) hour Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA) requirements for training of long-term care nursing assistants in preparation for certification through competency evaluation. Emphasis is placed on the development of the knowledge, attitudes, and skills required of the long-term care nursing assistant. Upon completion of this course, the student should demonstrate satisfactory performance on written examinations and clinical skills.
Things to do: - Complete the Nursing Assistant Application (located under Related Documents) - Visit your nearest Alabama Career Center and apply for WIOA to possibly assist with financial assistance for this program (this MUST be done at least 3-4 weeks prior to class starting). - Complete a background check and urine drug screen ($69.00) prior to starting the program at the following website: http://www.rstcbackgroundcheck.com/
Once you have paid, contact the nursing assistant department at 251-578-1313 Ext. 126 to setup a time to pick up a Chain of Custody form to get your drug screen collected.
