Disability Support Services

Disability Support Services

Reid State Technical College (RSTC) is committed to serving college students with disabilities. Services and reasonable accommodations are provided pursuant to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. As part of the Alabama College System, RSTC strives to eliminate barriers to learning or participation in other institutional activities. Students with disabilities are responsible for informing Reid State Technical College about the disability and the need for reasonable accommodations.

The ADA Coordinator is the central point of contact for students with disabilities. The ADA Coordinator may be contacted by phone at (251) 578-1313 extension 231, by email at Kammons@rstc.edu or in writing to: ADA Coordinator, Reid State Technical College, P.O. Box 588, Evergreen, Alabama 36401. Once the ADA Coordinator is informed of a student’s request for accommodation, the ADA Coordinator will initiate services such as screening of disability documentation, determination of appropriate accommodations, communicate student needs with faculty/staff, and provide reasonable accommodations for student with resources. Students with disabilities are encouraged to become actively involved with campus organizations. Accessible parking areas are also available for students who are certified for disability parking. For questions or concerns about Disability Support Services at RSTC, please contact the ADA Coordinator. For complaints about accessibility, please contact the Executive Director of Student Service at (251) 578-1313 extension 231.
