Understanding Title IX
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination based on sex in educational programs and activities that receive federal financial assistance. To ensure compliance with Title IX and other federal and state civil rights laws, the College has developed policies and procedures that prohibit sex discrimination in all of its forms. This policy was created to address issues of student sex discrimination; employees who feel they have been treated unfairly based on sex (or other protected classes) should refer to the College’s policy prohibiting harassment of employees.
